Move files/OS to a different HD on same computer.

Mar 16, 2004 9:29AM PST

Is there an easy way to move all files including OS to a different HD on the same PC? The "different" HD is presently a Slave Drive and is empty. The Master is about to over flow.

I am running Windows ME with IE 6 and Mozilla on a Gateway Performance 800.

Any help would sure be appreciated.

Yhank you. Have a great day.

Yes, but Windows ME can't operate from that other drive.

Could you copy the drive contents to the other drive, then change the slave to the master position?

Yes, but unsure how to handle ME.

I can reverse the drive positions. I am unsure how to handle ME.

Do you mean move all files except the "Windows" folder to the Slave then reverse the drive positions and that ME would then operate as usual from the "new" Slave Drive?

Software such as Norton's Ghost or sometimes what comes with the new big drive, copies the drive contents for you to do this.

What do you have?
