Question

MOV file

Mar 20, 2015 6:28PM PDT

Hello,

I have searched, searched, and tried everything under the sun.. Here is my issue.

I was using a gopro to take video, something happened during one of my last recordings, and it deleted EVERYTHING! I downloaded 3 programs to recover data, and it seems I have something, but the files wont play in any player I try. The properties say its MOV, there is a data size, speed rate, resolution, etc.. but nothing will play. I downloaded converters and corruption programs.. they all come to the same conclusion.. file not supported. Quicktime is the closest, itll load the file, and give the length of the file, but black screen and no sound...
I have 63 useless MOV files... can someone help!?

Assuming you made a clone of the device (hdd, ssd, sd card, you didn't tell) that had these deleted files before running those 3 recovery programs you can try a fourth program on a copy of that clone. But don't expect much.

To prevent such data loss in the future, consider a backup strategy from the gopro to your pc to the cloud or an external hard disk.
