Mouse trouble

Mar 14, 2004 2:26PM PST

My mouse cursor has just started to leap all around the screen on it's own. 2 out of 5 times I go to click opn an item and the cursor leaps to ,Usually, the bottom left of the display. It's driving me nuts. I have checked mouse settings, haven't installed any new software
Windows XP Pro
P4...1.8 G
LCD display
Any help will be appreciated

Try cleaning the underneath of the mouse of dust and lint. OR

See whether the mouse is properly plugged in. OR

Uninstall and reinstall the mouse. OR

Try another mouse.

? Check batteries at the mouse and transmitter.
? Transmitter plugged in properly ?
? Clean optical sensor at bottom of mouse.
? Reinstall.

Tried all that ..cleaned optics, installed new batteries, checked connection, etc.
Seems to happen when a box pops up, such as
"do you want windows to remember"
Or "do you want to run active x"'
Stuff like that
