Mouse randomly dies--what's wrong?

by wangnyuh222` / November 15, 2004 5:21 PM PST

I keep losing control of my mouse--the red light just turns off completely and does not respond to movement at all. A few minutes after that I lose control of my keyboard too--the lights turn off and it does not respond. Usually when I notice the mouse is out I'll restart using the keyboard before it dies too. When I reboot everything starts as normal, but it continually does this. I'm not sure if this is a hardware thing or not, but any advice would be appreciated. =)

Wangnyuh222',

You hold the interesting details for yourself. Is this a a wireless mouse/keyboard combination, or a standard wired mouse with a standard wired keyboard? Standard, there's not a single common factor between the two.

It looks like hardware, but please tell more.

Kees

That's strange... well it's standard wired and everything's plugged in just fine. I just can't figure out what the problem is.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
