Mouse optimizer?

I have a Targus PAWM20 Wireless mouse, it's not performing as smooth as I would like it to be, and I have tried the options in the Control Panel Mouse Properties section. I was wondering if there was some soft of program available that would make the most out of my mouse.

Some sort of program that gives me more options that I can change...
