Mouse movement problem+state of the laptop!!!Help me please

by dtnghia1987 / March 25, 2006 6:52 PM PST

At the moment I am using the vaio laptop fs215z which is quite powerful. However, there are 2 problems that irritate me so much but I dont know how to solve it:

1.the mouse of my laptop sometimes goes crazy in the way that it does not go in the direction that i want.Right and left click is still alright in those cases. The problem lasts for about a minute or so and then back to normal. This happens on a daily basis

2.on a regular basis,my laptop's processor goes into lag everytime I carry out a basic action such as right click on an item or open a program for a short period of time before it actually reacts.I know it through the light that does not flash during the lag.Importantly,I barely run any program meanwhile

Please anyone can help me with this it would be very helpful. Thanks alot.

Run the scans...

Before anything else, run the scans for malware, a common cause of such things. You can find a list of such apps by clicking here.

If everything comes up clean, check the drivers in Device Manager. (Right-click My Computer, select Properties, and select the Hardware tab.) See if there are any yellow flags under the mice/pointing device header.

Hope this helps and let us know.

P.S. When you say 'mouse,' do you mean you're using a mouse on your laptop, or are you referring to the mousepad? If it's the former, what make/model is it? (Check the bottom.)
