mouse keeps freezing???

i have XP and have three user accounts on my computer.
the mouse keeps freezing and won't move, its not dirty, any one know what would cause this?
it has only done this to me once, but does it all the time on my daughter's account, thanks
running xp, 512mg of ram, 40 gig hd
