Question

Mouse issues with Windows 10

Aug 2, 2019 9:00AM PDT

Hi

I am having issues with my mouse using Windows 10.

The mouse is Logitech M505

When I strike across text to highlight it to copy or cut n paste (with left mouse button pressed) it may highlight part if the area or none of it?

If I hold down the shift button and strike across it, it can highlight areas not even striked across.

Some programs allow widening of columns but when I try it won't allow it to happen.

I have checked Mouse in Control Panel Click Lock is not on, I am baffled and it is most frustrating.

Help please

Thank you in advance

1) make sure the mouse has fresh battery.
2) be sure the logitech drivers and program for linking the mouse to receiver is installed
3) If receiver is in back and replacing mouse battery doesn't solve problem, move receiver to front USB plug of computer and see if that helps.
4) If you also have a logitech keyboard wireless used, ONLY use one receiver for both it and the mouse.

If that doesn't solve it, time to try a different mouse. You could also reverse the buttons for the mouse in windows and see if it does the same when the right button becomes in essence the left button. If so, time for new mouse.

Thank you for your reply.

I put new batteries in in last 48 hours.

The drivers are up to date

I use a laptop, but I did change over two USB receivers, left to right, right to left.

Only mouse to receiver, as it is a laptop.

These were the first things I did, I also removed Win10 custom cursor and put it back to none.

Be sure to test with another mouse.

I have an older mouse that has a defect and you can't press and hold the mouse button. You can click but not "click hold." Fix? I replaced it.

Hi guys

Thank you it is sorted.

I took the wireless mouse off my PC and changed the receive that is with that mouse and it works

The original mouse must be half dead, or on strike, only doing the basics, not the cut n paste.

Thanks for your help
