Question

Mouse Issue on a desktop (hard to explain video below)

Jun 17, 2019 4:49PM PDT

Not sure what happened to my other post.. I might have deleted it by error.

Hello,

I've had this mouse issue for quite some time now and it's just frustrating me SO MUCH and I need to find a fix. I have tried a LOT of things I found online with no success. I have not reformatted my computer but i'm strongly considering it even though i'm not 100% sure it will fix my issue.

Here is a twitch clip of what it's doing :
https://clips.twitch.tv/AntsySpunkyYakOhMyDog

It's kind of hard to understand even with a video but i'm making the same movement at the start and at the end of the clip (going from right to left. If you pay attention you'll see that my mouse will stay on the left side even though my movement IRL doesn't change.. This has been happening for like 6+ months at random times ( I had a razer deathadder before but I just changed mouse to a logitech g303 two days ago and it's still doing it.

If anyone can fix this issue I will literally love you forever.

If you want my PC specs here they are: http://prntscr.com/o35004

Hardware:

Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Chroma
Mouse: Logitech G303
Headset: Steelseries Arctis 7

All my drivers are up to date.. I even did a BIOS update yesterday to see if that would do anything in some way.

Help Sad

Thanks,

Ok, I read that and I was reading about the DPI.. now that I think about it it has been kind of happening (I think) since I lowered my DPI from 1800 to 800 but i'm not 100% since I was getting used to it for a long time. I think i'm gonna reformat my computer and see if it does anything I haven't done it in quite some time anyways. Love

It may not matter "it worked before." Why?

Because about W7 Microsoft started to auto update drivers which I'm not one to say that's a good thing. It has resulted in many odd issues.

So for this one I'm looking at the DPI settings and going native on the mouse driver. That is, I never install one today for desktops.

native

My only issue with no mouse driver is that I need to adjust my DPI&Polling rate.. I have tried just now to reproduce the issue @ 1600 DPI and I can't.. or maybe it's so fast I don't see it but it doesn't seem to be happening so i'll have to go back to that I guess.. Makes no sense though because a lot of pro FPS players use 400-1000 DPI and don't have issues.

Here we go native

And found no issues. If you do install a driver then you run the risk of driver hell (you get to find a newer driver that works.)

Again, you have to start from a working condition, even if it means you don't have this driver during the debug steps.

-> If you installed the mouse driver from the CD that came with the mouse, it's often broken in ways you can't imagine. And then W7 to 10 changes so you are stick in limbo trying to find where the issue is.

If a client refuses to work the issue, then they are truly stuck.

I installed the logitech gaming software from logitech website but I also had the same issue 3 days ago with my razer deathadder mouse where I had Razer Synapse installed.. I had razer synapse years ago with the same deathadder and had no issues.

Either way I think it's fixed now I appreciate the help.

Thanks for the update.

It's annoying when you just fiddle with the settings and it seems to cure itself.
