Mouse install

I purchased a new mouse, Micro Optical Scroll Mouse and installed it, and it is working great. However, it came with a floppy disk and it says it is a:

3D/4D Browser Mouse Driver.

Since the mouse is working without installing this driver I would like to know if it necessary to install it. If so, how do I do this? I put the floppy in the PC but nothing happened. Happy Happy

Should I use the "Add new hardware wizzard"? Haven't a clue and would appreciate any help.

From the info you have provided I looked up your Mouse and from what I can see and have read you shouldn't need to install the driver "Since the mouse is working without installing this driver" if it was a more complex mouse then you would want to install the driver but since you purchased a simple mouse you shouldn't need to.

I appreciate your advice. I'll leave well enough alone. However, since the driver I have installed is from 1999, if something goes wrong with it I won't know how to install the new one. I don't plan on buying a new PC any time soon, so I would like to know how to install the new driver in case the old one stops working. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks again.

There is an issue
Dec 29, 2004 1:22AM PST

I recently bought a Microsoft keyboard/ mouse combo, with CD installation.

The keyboard installed fine, but the mouse only partially installed and, for instance, there is no "read me" file.

I took this up with Microsoft - along with probs registering the products on their site - but as yet it is not resolved.

I will let you know if there is an answer - but as my mouse works too, I won't bust a gut over it.

Thank you.

I didn't get a "read me" file either. It's working great so I won't worry about it. Happy
