mouse flashes with little cd icon

How do i get rid of the little cd-icon wich frequently flashes next to my mouse..??? Anybody have a hint?

Can you describe the 'little CD icon' ? Do you mean the 'hour glass' which sometines accompanies the mouse pointer, and which turns every now and then ? If so, that means Windows is busy in the background, but you can still carry on working.

I believe this means that your CD drive is being accessed. Then you get the menu of what action you'd like to take referring to the CD.

That icon shows up on my system only when I insert a CD or DVD. I believe you can eliminate it by disabling "auto insert notification" for your CD or DVD drive.
