Mouse back/forward buttons inverted

Jan 3, 2011 7:05PM PST

Hello,

I've just bought a mouse from LG Electronics model number XM-410. The issue is that the back/forward buttons located on the side of the mouse (left) are inverted. First button that should have been allocated for forward movement (furthest from the hand wrist) works as back button and the second button (closest to the wrist) works as a forward button.
I tried to adjusted from my Win7 Control Panel but I noticed no such features.

Does anyone know if I can adjust this in any way?

Thank you

Mouse issues

First thing I would try, get a wired mouse hook it up and check functionality. If functions are all normal, take the LG back and get a Logitech Nano you will then be a happy camper. What it sounded like to me was that your LG mouse was set up for LEFT handed function which you should be able to fix in control panel, seems odd that option is not available with that mouse, it should be. Good luck.

Check your LG driver

If you cannot find any way to adjust this in the Windows 7 control panel mouse settings then you will have to rely on LG.

Why did you purchase an LG mouse? That's a very odd brand for a mouse.

If your mouse came with a CD, you will have to run it and check to see if it installed any software that allows you to map the buttons. If it does, then just use it to change the functions of the two buttons.

If you did not get a cd with the mouse, go to LG's website and try to find a driver for it. Again, if it's there download it, install it and use it to change the settings for your mouse buttons.

If there is no driver software available for your LG mouse then you will either have to put up with it or you will have to return the mouse and purchase one that preferably comes with software that allows you to map the buttons. CNET is full of mouse reviews. Check them to see which will suit your needs.
