Mouse and keyboard now working is 98se

I am trying to get an old computer back up and running but mouse and keyboard won't work after booting it to windows.Says mouse not found.
I can't clk find or anything with mouse not working ,lol
I tried startup disk with cd for win98se in it with no luck too.
Anyone have any ideas of how to get them working.

ensure mouse and keyboard...

are connected to their proper PS/2 port.

answered plenty. Use search bar at top.

1. try safe mode. Then troubleshoot.
2. go get a serial mouse, cheap used, $4.
3. might be settings in "setup" or BIOS, but caution!
