Motorola V60 Cell Phone

Oct 28, 2004 5:58AM PDT

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! IT IS INEVITABLE THAT THE

PHONE WILL BREAK AT THE FLIP JOINT. THE MFG WILL NOT

ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS AN INHERENT FLAW IN THE

DESIGN WHEN IN USE. THE JOINT AFTER AWHILE WILL FORM

A STRESS CRACK AND EVENTUALLY WILL BREAK APART IN YOUR

HANDS. AFTER OUT OF WARRANTY MOTOROLA WILL DO NOTHING

TO HELP EXCEPT SAY THAT YOU CAN EXTEND YOUR SERVICE

AND GET A DIFFERENT PHONE OR SEND THE PHONE TO THEIR

NATIONAL SERVICE CENTER. THEN IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY

ABOUT WHAT CHOICES YOU ARE OFFERED THEN YOU GET THE

OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK WITH THEIR WONDERFUL SERVICE

CENTER IN ARGENTINA (OUTSOURCED!!!!!) THIS PHONE

SHOULD BE RECALLED!!!!!! DONT BUY THIS PHONE...I AM

SURE THERE ARE OTHER BETTER PRODUCTS OUT THERE...

First of all, stop with the ALL CAPS!! Second, the v60 has been Motorola's most successful phone since the Startac, and possibly its most successful phone EVER! I've had one for 3 years with ZERO problems. Did you mean the v600 by any chance? I've seen and read some problems with the v600 cracking near the hinge.

I've really manhandled my V60 and never had a problem with the hinge. The antenna breaks off but neither mine nor my husband's had any issues with the hinge.

The V60 series has a weakness with the charger connection. This has happenned with three out of four that I have owned for more than 1 year. The connection will eventually quit making contact & you will replace the phone. The new Moto V180/220 series use a plug-in connector that is much more sturdy.

I am looking at the Motorola V60si from Cellular One. Is this the one you have? My daughter is pretty hard on her phone and I want to get her a new one for Christmas.

But this phone comes free with a lot of plans, and I only paid $20 for it.
