Motorola V276

Aug 9, 2005 9:20AM PDT

I'm looking to get verizon service, and I came across the Motorola V276. It has speakerphone and a built in camera which are two features I value. But I can't find any reviews on it. Does anyone know anything about this phone??

Had mine about a week now
Sep 23, 2005 1:46AM PDT

I traded the v710 for it and also had a LG vx6100

I got the Moto primarily because it has what is called sidetone, the attenuated sound of the the users voice in the earpiece letting you know how loud you are talking and the the equiplemt works, some people don't like it some don't notice it, I find it anoying to use the phone without it

The color screen is the most usable in direct sunlight and the contrast on the key pad is good

You can't download teh pictures to the phone with software, it's been cripled by Motorola at VZW's request

The name regonition is good and unlike the LG doesn't just dial the default number but but asks you if you want to dial mobile home or office

The phone book is kind of funny in you have the option of listing the names as many times as they ahve numbers or to colapse the the with only 1 entry per name but then when you drill down you don't get a list of all names but you have to page through them.

Excelent reception, MOTOs are known for it

the speaker phone is usable in the care but I close the windows and turn the radio off

Have Owned This Phone For Almost A Year
Dec 21, 2006 9:01PM PST

I have had the V276 for almost a year now. If you have had a Motorola cell phone in the past, then you will have no problem with using the main features of this phone as it is customary. The first downside that I have discovered with this phone is that it has a delayed response when alerting you that you have new voice mail messages. Very delayed response. Approximately 30 seconds to a full minute delayed in alerting you of new voice mails. I have had owned other Motorola phones and the other two that I owned previously were much better in informing you that you had new voice mail messages. This one is the worst of the three different models that I have owned and used. The speakerphone is another bad feature. It is pretty hard to activate as the button is on the side and I have known to have to press the particular button or their Smartkey button several times before the speaker is turned on. The previous model, the V180, was much better. All I had to do was to press to turn on the speaker, if I wanted to activate the speakerphone. And the button to activate the speaker was one of the main buttons that I always use, which was not on the side of the phone. So, if you are looking for a perfect phone, this is not one of them.

Hope that I have helped you.
