Motorola V-551 as wireless modem to internet for iMac G5

I've wasted two months trying to get to the internet via Motorola V551 phone with bluetooth pairing to Imac G5. The bluetooth pairs, but connection cancels at final step. I've read everything from Ross Barkman, Mike Chambers and Greg Grothe. Why is this so difficult. Cingular techs think I'm from Mars, and Motorola folks can't help either. Anyone done it successfully? James
