I'd get my ETHERNET to work from the SP5100 to my PC first. You haven't sniffed that out yet so what's to say it's dead?
Also, when you change that connection remember to power cycle that cable modem...
I have a Motorola Surfboard SP5100 that has been previously connected to my XP SP2 pc via USB 2.
I recently acquired a Draytek Vigor 2900G Router.
When i attempt to connect the modem to the WAN port on the router i can't get any connection.
I have used a range of connections in an attempt to get this working..... The cat5 that came with the modem, the cat5 from the vigor, and a range of cat5 cabling i had lying around.
To be sure it wasn't a cabling problem i changed them over and connected the router to the pc with all of them. I could dial into the router with every cable i used. However when i tried to connect the modem directly to the NIC i didn't get any connection lights at all.
I have tried optusnet tech support to no avail.
Someone help me??
