Motorola SLVR L7 - Charging Problems - Can't Find Solution

My phone has been charge just fine, and doing amazing. For awhile there I had problems with the volume buttons on the side of the SLVR continuously going up forcing the volume to go up non stop which canceled the use of ALL other phone buttons BUT the red phone but and the use of turning the phone on and off. EVENTUALLY that stopped happening, but I heard that, that problem is cause by dirt and whatnot in the phone?

ANYWHO, my phone has recently been having the problem of charging. It seems to charge when it wants to, almost. But like I plug it in and it will say charging then it won't, then it will, then it won't. And sometimes it has to be in a certain position, not specific, to charge. Like the actual phone and charger seems like it HAS to be at a certain angle sometimes.

My phone's battery has just died.. It seems it has gotten to the point of not charging period. I'm afraid this is dirt in the phone and I won't be able to fix it. Does anyone know the actual problem? PLEASE help.
