Motorola RAZR V3c (Verizon) - speed dial dials wrong numbers

Jan 27, 2006 5:55PM PST

I have my contacts all loaded - some with multiple numbers (mobile, home, and work) for one contact. I have a speed dial number associated with each number. If I dial the speed dial number plus #, the correct contact comes up on the screen with the appropriate number (i.e. work) hilighted. However, if I press Send to call the number, the phone calls the mobile number associated with this contact, even though the mobile number has a different speed dial number than I dialed and even though the work number is highlighted. Is this a software glitch or am I doing something wrong?

Same thing goes for trying to use a speed dial to pull up an email address to send a txt msg.

The single-digit speed dials that you just push and hold to dial are working correctly. It is just the 2-digit speed dials that you need to dial and push # to pull up that contact that are causing me trouble.

RAZR V3C (Verizon) - speed dial, wrong numbers
Feb 13, 2006 12:05AM PST

I am new to my RAZR, and I have to wonder if the speed dial settings are impacted by the 'default' number setting you can assign on contacts. In other words, if you have multiple numbers for the same contact, you can set one as the 'default'number to be dialed when you select that name from the contact list. I wonder if the speed dial feature is impacted by that setting and therefore dialing the 'wrong' number. What I can't tell you, if that is happening, is how to fix it - seems to me the whole speed dial setup is flawed - forced speed dial assignment, unable to delete speed dial assignment (from what I've seen on my phone so far), and unable to edit speed dial from the contact list.

I'm bugging my account rep about this.

I have the same problem

I agree this is a bad programing error, I spent two hours on the phone with Motorola and wasted my time.
Hope they do the right thing and correct the problem this phone is selling well.
