not a clue actually. there are a lot of things that the engineers of the razr v3c neglected to implement on this phone. it would be nice to have the option of having the external display remain on all the time, but i don't think there is any way to do it...if there is, please let us know! i have a concern about the lack of an option to have both the ringer and vibrator on at the same time. that feature was on my old sanyo4900 (which i just turned off after having it 3yrs, 1000 drops or more, numbers wearing off, battery dropped in the toilet, and it still worked about as well as it did when i got it on 12/6/2002). the calculator is pretty hefty on the razr v3c, having parenthesis and expontents, but that is about the extent of innovative thinking on behalf of motorola and verizon. works well as a phone, but the system and UI need work, hopefully in the form of free updates. i just got my razr on 12/24/05 and haven't checked yet, but can you use the mini-USB connected to a PC USB to download/upload pics? I don't need all that extra Get-It-Now crap, I just wanted a low end digicamera and a phone in one unit an

Want to upload free pics/ringtones to your v3c? Heres how!

First you need to either download/buy Motorola mobile phone tools deluxe and a ringtone maker, I suggest MAGIX Ringtone Maker. Then install phonetools and follow instructions on how to install your phone. After you have installed your phone, the side panel will have the multimedia option greyed out. This is how you fix this:

To get the VC3 to work with the multimedia studio all you need to do is let the RAZR load as it normally would and then you see the greyed out multimedia button. I did this with MPT 3.28

Then hit the center button > setup > general setup > then click the communication tab > then change modem > then hit next > the select motorola USB modem then hit next > then check the box that says "do not automatically detect the driver. Select from List" then hit next > then highligh motorola CDMA > then scroll down to E815m > then hit finish then OK. Boom! You can upload all you want!

By doing this, it saves you a ton of time and money. The program costs $20 something dollars, but its worth being able to make your own ringtones and upload them. Also, this program allows you to save your contact list instead of paying verizon to save it for you. I love verizon, but hate how they try and make you pay for everything

Want to upload free pics/ringtones to your v3c? jbird19

jbird19, do your ringtones sound good? I can load ringtones via bluetooth to my v3c. I made one from a mp3 by converting and compressing it with winamp to a wav file, then edited it with windows sound recorder to a 30 sec clip and lastly created ringtone through pure voice converter. Here's the problem though. If you go to the get it now screen (on phone) and open the file it sounds poor. If I set it as a ringtone it is very low in volume and sounds like crap. Thanks
