The Motorola Q runs WindowsMobile 5.0, which syncs using Microsoft ActiveSync. The problem is that ActiveSync only supports Windows, so Microsoft Entourage on Mac OS X is out. However, the software TheMissingSync can get the job done for you for $40.
As far as I know you would have to purchase third-party software if you wanted the same syncing abilities with the Blackberry 7130. If I had to choose between the two I would take the Q, but if I had a third choice I'd seriously look at the Palm Treo line. Depending on the model it could run either Palm OS (which can sync with a Mac natively) or WindowsMobile 5.0 and they all include touch screens for greater functionality.
Hope this helps,
I'm trying to decide between the Motorola Q and the Blackberry 7130 on Verizon.
My main criteria is being able to sync my messages (i.e., InBox as well as Sent) as I use my e-mail application (i.e., Entourage) as a filing system. I do not have Microsoft Exchange. I'm not sure I'm pretty sure I can't do it with the Blackberry, but I'm not sure about Wireless Sync on the Motorola Q. Any suggestions?
