Motorola Not Disclose SLVR Limitations

by mikek9 / December 7, 2006 1:28 AM PST

After an hopur with Motorola customer support, I've learned the following facts about the SLVR phone that motorola doesn't disclose when you buy the phone.

This concerns playing the iTunes music it supports thru external speakers or thru headphones.

1. There are no compatible bluetooth headphones that will play music from your SLVR. None. Not even from Motorola. (See detail below).
Problem - gee I bought a music phone, with iTunes, with Bluetooth, and guess what - it won't play them!!

2. There are almost no external speakers that you can buy, EXCEPT from Motorola (and only 1 model) to play SLVR music thru them. So even though a std iTunes music phone and std connection and std speakers - it WON'T work!

Motorola disclosed at purchase the iTunes limit of 100 songs.
But did NOT disclose:
A. that their bluetooth phone won't play it's music on bluetooth headsets/headphones. Not even their own!
B. that their music phone with std USB mini B connector won't output the music to external speakers, except the one model they sell.

I checked their website in detail with customer support on the phone. There IS a bluetooth headphone listed (DJ headphone for $149) - but it ONLY plays music from your bluetooth PC and calls from your bluetooth SLVR. But NOT music from SLVR. Yet the website says NOTHING about that.

Further - Motorola support people told me first that it works with Motorola headphone HT820. That is false we confirmed with a supervisor.
They also told me the DJ headphone would play music - false the supervisor confirmed - only music from bluetooth PC.

BEWARE everyone - if buying a SLVR for music - you are severely limited in using it. You cannot find any accessories that support it, and Motorola customer support will lead you astray unless you keep asking questions.

Motorola - I hope this posting loses you more customers than just me because of your inability to disclose severe product limitations. And more so for your poor customer support - false and incorrect information, over 1 hr of time to get the real disclosures, and the support teams nice use of the term 'compatibility' when it just plain DOESN'T WORK!
I'm gone (and I have done work with your company before, looked forward to buying the slim SLVR for it's features and music, and am now so disillusioned and out the cost of external speakers and cables I bought too).

P.S. For full disclosure - I have found on page 17 of the 82 page User Manual one line says "Note: You cannot listen to music through most Bluetooth headsets." Too bad that's not disclosed at purchase, and too bad the truth isn't listed - it's "none', not "most".

Thanks Motorola for an otherwise good phone, but the extras which differentiated it you clearly misplayed and mis-informed - and still do today on the website. No mention of any of this at all.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
