Motorola G 3rd Edition Mobile Data Question

Sep 20, 2015 6:56AM PDT

I had a pay as you go phone before that would let me turn off mobile data. When I did so, I could only make or receive calls and only receive regular text messages. Nothing internet related would update itself, and any picture messages would not download. I could then either turn mobile data on, or wait until I was on WiFi, and then do all internet enabled stuff. It was a nice way to manage my data usage without having to just be on airplane mode all the time.

With Ting I just purchased a Motorola G 3rd edition. Anyone know if it has a similar setting? I am not seeing anything like it in options.

Also, if I got a text while my old phone was off or on airplane mode, it would have the proper time stamp when I turned it on and texts arrived. I know that for some phones, the time stamp for everything will just be when the phone was turned on. Anyone know how this phone does it? Thanks!

I didn't use the phone setting for data but used my ting.com user account settings to turn off the data use. Works great.

Hi, I'm also using moto g3 and it runs great! I have no problem using the Internet in both mobile data and wi-fi modes. It gives amazing gaming experience too.
