ive had that problem with a few nokia phones. it may be the phone OR it could be a cingular voicemail upgrade issue. get another phone and see if the icon appears on that phone, if it does, youll know that its no the e398
I know people have posted similar questions on some of the other forums....but I could not find much on this particular phone.
I got an unlocked motorola E398 about a month or so back....and I got Cingular service.
I was having a wierd problem...Whenever I retrieved a new voicemail, I was getting a text message and it said text message from '#@' or some other symbols like this...
I took it to Cingular store and the guy looked at it ...i dont exactly know what he did...but now even though I do not have any new voicemails the voicemail notification icon is always ON. I tried to do a Master reset, but still it would show up as soon as I accessed my voicemail.
I also tried some of the other things people suggested elsewhere (exiting by using * key etc)...still the icon is on...
I called up Cingular and they tried to do something at their end...but they say the problem seems to be with the phone...and since its not a 'cingular' phone they can provide only limited support.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding this....anyone else have this trouble?
Help will be much appreciated.
Thanks!
