Not too many I fear.

The am2+ CPU has been superceded so you may have to find what is left out there for sale. I suggest

But these are likely to be REPLACEMENTS rather than upgrades.

Besides I've rarely found any motherboard replacement to cause the system to work that much better.

PS. Forgot about a big issue.

If this motherboard is from HP or another name, you almost always lose the OS provided by HP. And you get to reinstall the OS most of the time.

This adds quite a lot to your bill.

What do you mean no luck?

Remember the AM2+ is now out of date. There may be few to no replacement boards. I has written that I doubt any upgrade would be available.

But out there might be a replacement which is no upgrade.

ALSO IS THIS SOME HP MACHINE? IF NOT, IS IT SOME OTHER MAKE? Please tell. is a possible replacement but it may fail your requirements but then again there may be nothing that would!

thx again for replying. This is a custom built machine. since I posted this, i was able to get asus to do some over the phone diagnostics, i.e., pulled ram and counted beeps, that sort of thing. they instructed me to send mb in for repair. so on monday i will call them back for estimate. also i have browsed the internet, including newegg and many more for suitable upgrade and/or replacement, none have hdmi, so are not what i want. anyway, i thank u again and i will continue to pursue this, even if i have to replace everything.
