Feb 18, 2015 9:54AM PST

Hello all, I need a new mobo and wanted to get some input as to what others thought.

My needs would be for support are as follows: USB 3.0, moderate - heavy graphics usage, 1 SSD 500g, 3 HDs, 1 external HD, HDMI, wifi or bluetooth compatible, intel processor i5 or i7. I Am using Win 8.1 and will upgrade to new Win upon release.

I Am not a gamer, so that is not a factor. willing to spend $100 - $175.

Open regardless to what is listed above. I did have a Gigabyte P55 for 3 years which just died. Hopefully something that will last longer. If I missed something of importance to know, please yell... TIA

Another good place to see/review is Newegg.com

They've got a good selection from all the mfgs and usually good buyer product reviews. The other nice thing is they've got a good search engine allowing you to select what you want/need.

I'm using a GA P55-UD3R with an i7 860, aftermarket cooler runs well . . . 24/7/365 and it's been rock solid.

Pick your socket type and you're on your way.

Let us know how it works out.

if the operating system on the computer is oem (from a major manufacturer or system builders oem) and you replaced the damaged motherboard with a different one, you will need to include the cost of a new operating system into what you are willing to spend. The only way you will be able to use the same oem operating system is if you replace it with the exact same motherboard or the old motherboard is no longer available.
