Windows XP (the CD without SP1/SP2) is limited so that's the cause of the issue.

The BIOS on the my motherboard will not properly recognize my 250G hard drive and causes the size of the hard drive to be reset to 137G for both BIOS and windows XP resulting in the loss of my video data. I have heard BIOS and the MB hardware must be able to use 48bit addressing to properly identify and access large hard drives.
My current configuration is:
AOpen AK86-L motherboard
BIOS V 1.18
AMD 64 3400+ CPU
EIDE 250G hard drive
2 x 512MB DDR400 memory
2 x 1.44M 3.5? drive
SATA 300G hard drive
OS MS Windows XP
primary computer usage is for programming and video tape editing
I am looking at the MSI motherboard K8TNeo-V Skt 754 with Via K8T800 & Via VT8237 chip set. Can anyone tell me if this MB will support 250G HDs, or give me a source to check if 48bit addressing is supported.
