Feb 21, 2004 6:22AM PST

I need a new motherboard. I want to use all the same components that I already have. The motherboard is an Asus. It uses PC100 Ram. I want a recomendation on the best motherboard that uses pc100 ram. I want to purchases a whole new set up. Motherboard, ram, and cpu but I cannot afford it. So I will just replace what is broken. any advice would be great. Thanks

How do you know that it's just your motherboard that is broken?

And what else are you wanting to recycle?

Without the make/model of the CPU, it's unlikely that the forum can find your new board.

Also note which planet and country since spatial coordinates and shipping can make a 1 dollar board cost a few million (just kidding!)

They haven't been using PC100 RAM in new systems for about 5 years now. Finding a used motherboard is your only choice at this point. Since you can get 128meg of current style memory for $40 you might want to reconsider the option of replacing a motherboard/processor that is so far out of date.

If you insist on staying with the old hardware your only route is to find used hardware at a place like Ebay. Those old boards should be quite cheap now.
