Most "Racism" is Fake

Here's another proof of concept. Over the years I've seen both blacks and Jews do this trick. Rarely are they caught though, instead a lot of public outrage over the supposed "racism" and some funds to help "alleviate their pain" comes forth and it all calms back down, unless there's someone else they want to blame for it.

"more than" calling someone a name...but a part of racism?

Isn't calling someone a name an "action"?

So you claim to be a sticks and stones kinda' guy....It is reported[1] to have appeared in March 1862, a publication of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, where it is presented as an "old adage" in this form:

Sticks and stones will break my bones
But words will never harm me.

Don't most physical confrontations begin with individuals exchanging words(an action)? Even among "white folk"? Other physical confrontations (without words) are referred to as being "sucker punched".

when it starts?

In reply to: RE: to me, racism is more than

Based on your approach, the confrontation begins the second they see each other. Physical confrontations start with physical actions. Word may or not lead to that, but the words are not physical.

The problem is that "fightin' words"

In reply to: Re: Word may or not lead to that,

have become to mean anything that slightly annoys and already neurotic person. One never knows and there is never an excuse to escalate to use of physical force until physical force is being used against you or is, at least, an imminent threat.

I separate prejudice from bigotry

In reply to: to me, racism is more than....

To feel a prejudice toward someone or a group can be very natural and normal. One doesn't do this consciously. Bigotry is different, IMO. Bigotry is failing to control one's prejudices and does involve actions. Therefore, name calling may or may not be racism. Calling a person of another race a "fathead" isn't racism. Calling them a "fatheaded (insert known racial slur here)" would display racism in my view. Bigotry can still be a bit different as it refers to how you treat or behave toward someone of another race. Bigotry is correctable by self discipline but prejudice may not go away easily. It does no harm to another but it can negatively affect oneself.

police presence in their neighborhood so they start vandalizing homes around theirs as proof of need. Maybe if I thought we needed a fire station closer to where I lived, I could torch a few people's woodpiles or backyard sheds in the area. Hey...I wouldn't want to actually hurt anyone, would I? If caught, I could certainly ask for leniency because my intentions were honorable. Happy

Now that's a unique position(!)

Would it be still be racist if I called you a 'redneck' or 'country hick' for posting such drivel when I omit a term reflecting your race?

I think we can fault an all to anxious media that's willing

to report anything remotely connected to suspected racism. We also know well that college students are among the most enthusiastic and creative pranksters and hoaxers to be found. If it will get attention, they will do it. If they do it, our media will give them that attention. All of this trivializes any real problem that might exist as the rest of us have no idea of the true extent of it.

Of course there is little doubt this issue is the result of by global warming. HappyDevil
