More Sound !?

Apr 16, 2005 5:52AM PDT

When I am watching movies, playing games I turn up all my sound.... I can hear it well but I'd like it to be a little louder, is there any programs that amp your sound?

- I have turned up all my sound
- I'm running XP Home
- I reinstalled all my drivers

*** I am sure there is some software that will fulfil my needs ***

alright, it's not as simple as your thinking it is...it's actually easier

if you want it louder
it means you need more wattage

simple as that
turning up the output on the computer, and cranking the speakers, will cause them damage (after enough time)

but what i'd suggest is a good sound system for your PC
such as the Logitech Z-5300e, or even the slightly lower priced Logitech X-530 (both are 5.1, and both are easily capable of blowing away most 2.0 systems)

other options would be the Z-680 or Z-5500 from Logitech (their high end, the Z-680 is on the way out, the 5500 is on the way in (and they are impressive, 500W RMS each)

or Klipsch's ProMedia Ultra 5.1 system, with around 500W of power

or Creative S750 with 700W of power in a 7.1 configuration (it's like 90W per channel, and 210W on the sub woofer)

if that ain't loud enough
i'd say get a HT amplifier
and some HT speakers
and put them together
connect it
and creank it (look for some 120W 3-way's, the older school stuff that a lot of people used for rock)

Sorry I didn' mention! headset!

I using a headset BUT pretty soon I was looking at a PCI 7.1 sound card for better gaming.

The first ONE!

Also I'd need better a headset.

The one at the very top (SpeedLink Medusa 5.1 Surround Headset) looks good but if you scoll down to the very bottom there is a USB one (SpeedLink Medusa 5.1 Surround Headset USB) I'm not too sure what one?.... USB or non? Sad.... Since the USB doesn't plug in to the sound card but the USB ports would it not sound as good, vice versa? and in games (eg, Counter-Stike 1.6, Couneter-Strike: Source) could I hear all the way around.... like behind, infront?

If you think the sound card or headset is going to be a bad idea, pick one, be my guest. Happy

i think that getting an Audigy 2 ZS (not the Value edition) and a good 5.1 speaker system is your best bet (unless you cant have speakers for some reason)
