More Obama Targets

Mar 23, 2015 8:48PM PDT

Hearings are being held today regarding banks being given 'direction' to cancel accounts for various businesses that this administration doesn't like.....gun shops, ammo shops, tobacco shops, etc. The list is longer than has been published......

http://dailysignal.com/2015/03/24/what-to-expect-from-todays-operation-choke-point-hearing/

Also...FEMA has announced that starting next year, no funds will be given to anyone who lives in a state where the governors don't go along with 'climate change' regulations/rules.

As I said...I could just as easily used YOUR rag, and the frown would have still been put in because of the topic itself. You must be in favor of the topic and the targeting of legitimate businesses since you only complained about the source I used. Would you still be in favor of it if I had used YOUR rag or would you finally actually disagree with what they reported?

You DO realize that you have turned the topic into another JP babbling bunch of nonsense because you don't seem to be able to deal with REAL issues regarding REAL legit businesses being put OUT of business by this administration and more loss of jobs because of their agendas, don't you?

the only businesses that actually ARE losing their bank accounts are legitimate.....I guess if it's 'illegal', they actually get a free pass like people crossing the border, because I haven't seen much, if anything, being reported on the ones you listed even being investigated let alone having their bank accounts closed. Have you?

I saw their "businesses" mentioned in the link YOU provided. Not enough for you, but GOP wants to shut THAT down.

You want to see lots of articles of "illegal businesses" complaining that an "illegal business" can't make a financial transaction. Just because they are running an "illegal business" doesn't mean they are going to go public/stupid.

HEY!!!!!......That's me over running a scam...the Gov is making it difficult for me to use the bank. WHERE ARE THE PRESS WHEN I NEED THEM

are ALL legal and legitimate businesses until proven otherwise in a courtroom, JP.....they can't be 'targeted' by this administration via the FDIC because of a 'suspicion' or because of an agenda. Their bank accounts cannot be closed willy-nilly....it's actually discrimination and liberals are completely against that, aren't they?

Congressman Sean Duffy (R-WI) was interviewed this morning on Fox....he was part of the committee that held that hearing yesterday. The DOJ claims that they are only going after 'fraud''; however, the banks are prohibited by the FDIC from telling Congress what the FDIC is telling them. Congress was holding meetings last week with some of those banks and the WH called the 'offenders' and told them that they didn't have to go to that meeting and that if they did go, the WH would provide attorneys for them.

Just as the WH used the IRS to target conservatives and used the EPA to target energy companies they don't like, they are now using the FDIC to target businesses they don't like.

Are
Mar 24, 2015 8:58AM PDT

gun sale shops, ammo shops, pawn shops all legitimate businesses that you recognize?

I wonder what the government considers to be 'racist materials'.....cop uniforms .. Confederate Flags .. "hands up, don't shoot" banners/bumper stickers?

I notice that 'lifetime guarantees' are on the list.....would that include Obamacare? Or would that fall more into the category of 'Ponzi schemes" or "Government Grants" ?

Three business owners
Mar 24, 2015 9:50AM PDT

were interviewed this afternoon on FoxNews..... two were gun sales shops, and one was a "payday" shop.....all three said that their bank accounts were abruptly closed. One gun shop owner was also interviewed yesterday and, being an ex-cop, he recorded the conversation he had with the bank when they, also, had closed his bank account. All four said that bank managers told them that it was because of the government 'chokepoint' directives. The taped conversation was aired, and it is definitely blaming that program.

Do have any other source besides Fox?
Mar 24, 2015 11:12AM PDT

I don't trust them after all those people they interviewed about losing their insurance because of ACA that turned out to be lying or never checked the website.

At least my source was from the House.

- Collapse -
Are you actually expecting
Mar 24, 2015 9:19PM PDT

me or anybody else with a brain to believe that millions of people DIDN'T lose their insurance because of Obamacare, Diana? The whole purpose, supposedly, of Obamacare was to insure 30 million who didn't have any......and yet only 7 million in two years have signed up, and millions more lost what they had and had to replace it with garbage they didn't want or need. There are STILL over 30 million without coverage, including illegals that eventually will be eligible via this administration or will never get it by choice because they will stay in the background, use the ER as usual, and never pay into that system or any others.

Stay on track regarding targeting, please.........

It's hard to find any liberal media actually reporting on this story; however, the WashPost did write this article back in May, 2014....and they actually rant about it happening. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2014/05/24/operation-choke-point/

Quite obviously, some of these things are not like the other; moreover, just because there are some bad apples within a legal industry doesn't justify effectively destroying a legal industry through secret executive fiat.

So there are "some"...and they should be stopped....

DOJ and bank regulators are putting the screws to banks and other third-party payment processors to refuse banking services to companies and industries that are deemed to pose a "reputation risk" to the bank.

Banks are also involved in this crime fighting.

- Collapse -
"Bank REGULATORS"
Mar 24, 2015 10:53PM PDT

does NOT constitute BANKS, JP.....the regulators are the FDIC, controlled by the Fed Government via pressure put on them to comply even though that agency is supposed to be independent of government.

Yes, there may be 'some'.....however, the Feds do NOT have the authority to shut down banking services to ALL via executive fiat. Investigations have to be made first on a one-by-one case in order to get to a courtroom with prosecution because they are ALL currently legal and legitimate businesses unless proven to be otherwise. You don't shut down a business because of a suspicion or because of an agenda.

What part of this don't you comprehend?

Which was more important? The report, or the one who reported it? Was it not also the source which generated the news, which was reported?

John, the reporter

35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them. But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Maybe when the Republicans are in, and there's another Katrina, and it hits New Orleans, or some other Democrat stronghold, we can find a way to deny them help too. Divisive politics at it's best!

Sounds like time to disband FEMA, go back to helping through each state's govt helping resources and departments instead of continuing to support one more federal boondoggle like FEMA.
