As any monitor app will sap it further why not look at what your setup is and adjust that? For example as a test you could move to WPA2 AES Personal and not share the password and re-test.

How can I visually monitor my network connection? I continue to have very slow connections while surfing the web. But it is intermittent. I really got frustrated when my new ipad arrived and it too was affected.
