Question

Monitor won't turn on after installing new graphics card.

Apr 22, 2015 3:05PM PDT

I recently got a new graphics card ,a Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 Overclocked 2 GB, and my monitor won't turn on at all after installing it. My mother board is an Asrock 970 Extreme4. When I put in my old graphics card, an MSI Radeon 5450, it works fine. Please help, I have no idea what's wrong!

Tell us the specs of the computer
That R9 270 draws a bit more power than the 5450 , tell us about the PSU

Everything works fine with the old graphic card. Then you replace the old card with the new card and it doesn't work. That's the idea?

- Does it work in the BIOS setup?
- Does it work if you boot from a Linux Live disk or USB-stick or your Windows installation disk?
- Does it work in Windows Safe Mode?
- Does it work in Windows Normal Mode?

- Did you install the drivers for the new card?
