Steve, Have You Tried ??

...visiting the monitor manufacturer site and checking for an updated monitor driver???. Or maybe an updated video driver for your video card? Which operating system did the old computer have and which is being used now...Occasionally, there are new monitor drivers for new operating systems and processors, etc.

Have you tried changing the screen resolution to something smaller, maybe 800 X 600?

Have you tried moving the hardware accelleration back one notch? (If you're using Windows XP, open the Control Panel, double click on the "Display" icon, click on the "Settings" tab, then click on the "Advanced" button. Select the "Troubleshoot" button and move the slider down "one notch".)

Then again, depending on how "old" the monitor is, you may run into troubles and need a new one.

Hope this helps.

...when your "finances" allow, purchase a new monitor that supports the abilities of the new computer. If you've got a good video card with increased performance in the new computer, why stay with an outdated monitor. You'll like the results a lot more.

Hope this helps.
