Monitor Problems

Feb 12, 2004 11:57AM PST

I just got my monitor (along with a whole self-assembled computer) about a year and a half, maybe 2 years ago. The monitor just recently (since yesterday) started to change colors, sort of tinting to a greenish. It goes back and forth (the whole screen, not just one area). Can I fix this? By the way the monitor is an NEC AccuSync 75F and I haven't changed any of the hardware or visual settings to make this happen. Thanks for the help.

1. Make sure it's snugly plugged in.

2. Unplug the VGA connection, and plug it back in (scrubs the contacts.)

3. Test on another PC

can you try a diferent monitor to rule out bad video card?
if not look at repair shops as you dont want to mess with the high voltage

have you added any speakers next to the montor (big ones that aren't sheildeD)
i know you have probly thought of this but this same thing happened to a TV I have when I hooked up a really old speaker set up for video games, the screen will tint green and then show you the colors of the rainbow.
I doubt is magnetic interference but it could be.
