Monitor Problem

Oct 24, 2004 3:34AM PDT

Hi! to everyone,
It's a 'Socos 17 inch monitor about 3 years old.
At startup and during POST " the input on the screen is unreadable the letters are doubled just like it's out of focus but when it reach Windows it's clear and normal.I can open the back of the monitor and adjust the focus within Windows but no effect on POST Screen
I hook it up to a working system same thing happened
I'm sure it's the monitor, any ideas ? thanks ...

During bootup and post the video cards work in basic VGA mode and only switch to their enhanced video operational modes once the device drivers are invoked by your Windows operating system. The monitor will also operate or be controlled by VGA initially. Since the monitor is behaving the same using different video cards (hopefully different types), then your determination it is the monitor is probably correct.
