monitor issue

Nov 26, 2004 6:09PM PST

Hi there, The problem is with my 4 year old packard bell 17" monitor. Sometimes when i am playing runescape the monitor will just get a multicoloured line accross it and freeze, and other times when i load up msn messenger after playing runescape my pc freezes.
Any ideas?

Given so little information, I can only guess the machine needs service or repair. It's not unusual that a machine after many years will havd dust bunnies inside clogging airflow causing an overheating condition and the result being something like you wrote.

i have now hooked the pc up to my new 15" tft monitor and i get the same thing happening.
The graphics card i have is a geforce 2 4x.
Do you think this could be the problem?

No dust bunnies?

Your reply didn't show that you took my hint at the bunny issue.

Tell if you cleaned it up and if leaving the cover off helps.

i will try leaving the cover open, as i just looked at this program called everest and im getin a reading of 61(0c) for the graphics card.
