Question

Monitor flickering?

by TomAllenSmith / June 9, 2011 6:10 PM PDT

Hello, for some reason my secondary monitor is flickering. I'm going out of my mind trying to figure this out. The refresh rate and resolution are correct. I also plugged it into another computer with the exact same cord and vga to dvi adapter and it doesn't have the problem. If it helps I'm on a GTX 260 and had to force the resolution via nVidia control panel.

Had to force the resolution?

Why?

What was wrong with the monitor's native, or default, resolution?

That video. What were we seeing on the screen?

I forced the res because the computer won't recognize my monitor's native res. I forced it in the nVidia control panel. It's something to do with the settings, because it's working perfectly fine on my Windows XP box.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
