Monitor colors??

Oct 30, 2004 10:47PM PDT

Hi,
I have a problem with the colors displayed on my monitor. In the middle and on the side of the monitor the colors are fine, but on the bottom and top the icons and taskbar are kind of weird. you can see the item, but there is also red / green / blue stripes...

I thought it probably was a problem with the Monitor or with the Graphiccard. I have a 21" CRT Monitor and a Radeon 9600 GC with 256 MB. My OS is Win XP Pro.

After I tried to solve the problem there was this Notice when I restarted the Computer. It said that there was a problem with a ATI Driver or something like that. Then I installed the Driver CD that I have, and the notice doesn't come anymore, but the buttom and top of the screen is still distorted.

I would appreciate it if someone could write an Email with Hints or Solutions... Thanks

PS. I can send screenshots if that should help...

Try another monitor first, if you can. I would say that you have strong speakers or other magnets too close to monitor, but those really mess with color purity, not lines.

Also
Should monitor swap fail to correct issue.

Uninstall the video card in device manager
allowing windows to reinstall on boot.

Move lights, speakers and any EMF devices
away from monitor.
