The TNT is now many years old. In fact, in PC years, it's a senior citizen. But if you must use it, then you want the 32 bit color then you have to get a COLOR CALIBRATOR like this one -> http://www.digitalcad.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=25291
If you don't use this, then the color is only correct for your screen.

Having a bit of trouble calibrating my monitor. Didn't know this was so important until the digital photography bug bit really hard. Have a Dell Dimension 4100 with Windows Me as an operating system. The monitor is Dell 1726T-HS/D1025HT on NVIDIA TNT2 M64 4x AGP. The current setting is at: High Color 16 bit, 800x600 pixels. Have tried a 32 bit, 1024x768 pixel setting with less than perfect results. Things operate slow and jerky on this higher setting. Want to know how to address this as photo editing software is useless until the colors come true and correct. Thanks in advance.
