Moniter Resolution keeps changing on startup

by krisminime / March 29, 2008 9:39 AM PDT

Hello all

I'm having a problem with I'm Samsung Sync Master 2032MW...
It is currently set to resolution 1680x1050. Just how I like it.
I also have my icons on the desktop sorted in a particular fashion which makes the problem even more annoying.

Almost every time I restart my PC, the resolution changes to the smallest resolution (800x600 I think). The colour quality doesn't change however.
An icon appears in the system tray with a balloon message saying that the resolution has been changed, click here to have windows change the resolution for you. This usually bumps it up to the next resolution up, then I have to change it back to 1680x1050.

This used to be a minor annoyance but it has become to happen more often. If anyone can say where the problem might be, the graphics card or the monitor itself, at least I could look into a more specific area to find a solution to the problem.
Or if someone has a straight fix that would be fantastic.

P.S. My graphics card is an ATI Radeon 200 Xpress Series (on board)

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
