General discussion

Mods, a minor complaint:

May 15, 2007 5:45AM PDT

When I first log on I get all gray dots by the threads, not the red and green. Is it a Firefox problem?
Anyway, I can live with it.

Are you logged in?

sometimes the software logs me out and then I see the same thingSad

Before I log in I see no dots.

After login I see gray dots (= marked as all read). Same when I go to a thread, but the posts are aligned by my preference and I see the red "New" by the new posts. Also, I can post.

Check your cookies
May 15, 2007 9:23AM PDT

Make sure cnet is allowed to set cookies and don't clear cookies from your allowed sites when exiting Firefox. Ad (I think it's) "forums.cnet.com" to the exception listing. Make sure you're set to automatically log in.

Oops...........

Hi dprunner,

Yesterday when you initially posted, everything was normal here.

This evening, Wed 8 PM, I found the same thing. All gray bullets.

Went to the extreme upper right ( above the "Search" bar) and logged out, and then logged back in, and everything is restored. ?????

Thanks for your help, all. :-)

On Opera right now, and everything works.
Mac, I'll try your fix next time I'm on with Firefox; in any case I can live with it. Between the thread formatting and the "New" flags I can find my way around "in the dark".
