That's a stretch. You'll need to think about not only your replacement modem and router but how to cover the house.

I'm looking to ditch my monthly comcast gateway rental fee and buy my own modem and router. Where the gateway is right now, (in the living room at one end of the house) we don't get a good signal on the other side of the house where the upstairs bedrooms are and where there's a basement below. It's a tri-level home. I need some tips on where to have things setup or if I should keep the location the same and try using repeaters/extenders. I haven't purchased a modem or router yet.
We do have a family room that's more centrally located, but there isn't a cable jack or tv in there. Should I setup the router in there by itself? It would be about 50-70ft from the modem in the other room.
Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for my lack of knowledge!
