Modem problem

Mar 14, 2004 2:01AM PST

Windows XP Pro SP1

Modem: USR internal modem

Problem: No modem respond when dialing, I have to unplug the phone line cable then plug the cable back 'during' dialing process to be able to get connected.

Have tried changing the phone line cable and use other phone line... same problem.

Is there a way to fix this or I have to get another modem?

Thank You

I would see if 3Com has newer drivers, then replace the modem.

Melati, did you ever get this modem to work? I am have just "clean" installed WinXP on a new system and added a new USR modem to it and I can't get it to work.

Microsoft doesn't do drivers. They leave that to the person that installs the OS.
