Modem on hold

Dell 4600 running xp. the modem on hold feathure/software/cd is installed . is there some place i need to check to allow modem on hold?
Great Grandma trying to keep up with the kids.
mother 89, I need to be able to receive a call at anytime. A friend called me but said she had to call 5 times. Is the answering machine in the other room creating a problem also?

i am using modem on hold..i like it... you have to be using a V92 connection with your isp also must have call waiting with your phone company.... if you have a V92 modem then somewhere you probably have a modem on hold program on disk...maybe your restore disk...when the program is installed and working you will see a yellow telephone symbol at the bottom of your monitor near your clock....you gotta have all those things before it will work....To find out more on this try a SEARCH for MODEM ON HOLD

It seems that the cd supplied by Dell does not contain a program to set up the modem on hold the modem helper says empty and the Dell tec's are not able to give me any help that will solve the problem.
