Microsoft doesn't supply drivers, so that's not where to look. Some basic drivers are installed, but hardly all.
The OS installer (you?) gets to hunt such down and isntall such. Since its a Gateway, that would be the site to look. If the modem/lan is some PC-Card, then it's from that maker.
Happy hunting.

Mr. Profit,
Gateway 2000 laptop, a bit of an old jallopy, Pentium II processor, 6 GB, modem 3com. After upgrading Win98 2nd edition to W2 my onboard modem does not work,is not in the device manager nor is it listed in the control panel. I have checked for conflicts with my LAN but cannot see any. I have also looked for any know problems, which there appears to be some, with 3com and w2 and have not been able to find a fix on microsofts support website nor 3com.
Your suggestions greatly appreciated..
