It's geared toward 56K modems, but transmission requirements are the same. If this just started happening there may be trouble on the cable pair. You might call telephone repair.
I am having problems with a five-year old Rockwell V33600
dial-up modem.( 33.6 kbps.)
The problem is that it connects at speeds significantly lower than 33.6kbps, when I have been using it at this speed for years. It connects at 26kbps, 19.2kbps or even 8.4 kbps. Is there any way to troubleshoot it? I'm planning to upgrade to 512kbps DSL next month, but until then a proper connection is vital to my needs.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
