Mode Not Supported message on LE40A786R2 LCD TV

May 6, 2009 5:01PM PDT

Hi,

I have a Panasonic BD35 blu-ray player connected via a Yamaha amplifier to a Samsung LE40A786R2 LCD TV. The blu-ray player is set to output 1080p/24hz.

Frequently, either immediately or a few minutes after starting a blu-ray, the picture on the LCD will start to jump, flicker and disappear completely, and eventually show the "Mode Not Supported" message.

This does not happen with my Xbox360 (1080p @ 60hz) nor upscaled DVD (1080p @ 50/60hz).

The problem seems to lie with the 24hz mode on the Samsung LCD, but it is supposed to support these signals for judder-free blu-ray. Can someone please assist?
