Question

mode not supported

Oct 8, 2018 7:43PM PDT

hello to all
so , I just purchased a new n5300 samsung full hd tv .
when I first connected the cable box through hdmi cable it gave "mode not supported" message .
I tried the hdmi cable and the cable box and they worked fine on another tv.
I went to the cable box settings and changed tv system to "NTSC" .hdmi mode to "480p60" and it worked but in the low quality . when I change back to 1080 or 720 it does not work . it either show the " mode not supported" message again or keeps flickering .

it works fine when I connect my laptop through the hdmi cable . and it worked fine when I used the built-in receiver .

I saw some talking about entering the TV service menu to change resolutions and so but none of the ways they mentioned worked with me.

I am sorry but I don't understand what is firmware or what is it if you don't find a n5300 in it.

Since I went to samsung.com

And put in your model I had to look around for what was close.

Samsung must explain what the firmware updated but modern TVs have firmware that run the TV. Since you are giving a partial model number I had to look around so my answer now is call Samsung and have them help you update the firmware.

full model number

UA43N5300AS is the full model
T-KTSNUABC-1133.0 the software version and it is the latest update

Then it's back to Samsung.

That message is not new and Samsung will have to explain it.

Or ask the cable company what settings to try. At worst no one knows and you'll have to get a working TV from the seller.
