You'll read different opinions in the hits from https://www.google.com/search?q=iphone+8+versus+iphone+x
Read all hits from the first page, then decide.

But In a month or so Apple will announce new iPhones. You might prefer waiting for that announcement, so you can see if your one of the new phones above these two.

I think you can compare the iphone after it comes out, or you can consider Android phones. I think the Android phones I use are very good.
